Jallo Park
Established in 1978, Jallo Park is one of Lahore’s most popular public recreation and wildlife parks. Also known as Jallo Wildlife Park, it covers an area of about 461 acres and is one of the three major wildlife parks in Lahore, along with Changa Manga and Lahore Zoo Safari.
This beautiful park offers everything for families and nature lovers — from a theme park, sports complex, and swimming pool to restaurants, coffee shops, and a large lake for boating and fishing. It also has a wildlife breeding center and a forest research center, making it both educational and entertaining.
Currently, Jallo Park is managed by the Department of Wildlife and Parks, Government of Punjab. It’s not just a park full of greenery — it’s one of the biggest wildlife and family recreation areas in Lahore.
Location of Jallo Park
Jallo Park is located in the Lahore District of Punjab, about 7 kilometers from the city center. It sits along Jallo Road, near Lahore Ring Road and Grand Trunk Road, and connects to Canal Road.
To the south of the park lies Barki Road, and nearby attractions include Sozo Water Park, Sky Land Water Park, and Shalimar Gardens. You can also reach Allama Iqbal International Airport in about 30 minutes from the park.
Best Way to Reach
You can reach Jallo Park easily by taxi, Trans Lahore buses, or the Lahore City Commuter Train, which stops at Jallo Railway Station.
Since the park is large, it’s best to wear comfortable shoes if you plan to explore on foot. For those who prefer not to walk, rickshaws are available inside the park to move between different areas quickly and comfortably.

The Punjab Government has also allotted 100 acres to the Parks and Floriculture Authority (PHA) Lahore, which developed the Botanic Park and Butterfly House inside Jallo Park.
The park has 43 acres set aside for wildlife breeding. In 2007, sambar and chital deer were introduced for breeding. It also became home to many new bird species like parrots and pheasants.
For families, especially those with kids, this park is a great place to learn about nature, different plant species, and animal life in a fun environment.
Butterfly House at Jallo Park
One of the biggest attractions here is the Butterfly House, said to be the first in Pakistan. It has around 3,000 species of butterflies and gives visitors both an educational and relaxing experience.
The Butterfly House includes:

To keep the butterflies safe, the management maintains controlled humidity and temperature inside the dome.
Jallo Park History
The Government of Punjab began working to improve and expand Jallo Park in 2008. Between 2007 and 2010, the park went through a major development project, after which it became one of Lahore’s top tourist attractions.
The idea of the Butterfly House was given by Iftikhar Ahmed, the Vice Chairman of Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore.
There’s no entry fee to visit Jallo Park. However, some attractions like the Butterfly House, Water Slide, and Wildlife Area have small ticket charges. The ticket for the butterfly area is valid for 15 minutes, which is usually enough time to enjoy the experience.
