The Hussaini Hanging Bridge has a rich history dating back to the British colonial era, when the original bridge was constructed in Shishkat village in Gojal Valley. During the development of the Karakoram Highway, the bridge was relocated in 1968 by the orders of Mir Muhammad Jamal Khan, the ruler of Hunza, to connect Hussaini village with Zarabad village across the Borit River.
